Pear and Honey Preserves Amount Measure Ingredient Preparation Method 4 pounds cored, peeled and chopped pears 1/2 cup white wine vinegar 1 cup honey 2 teaspoons ground allspice 1 cup pecans 1/2 cup raisins In a large saucepan, combine the pears, vinegar, honey and allspice. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture begins to boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until thick or about 40 minutes. Stir in the nuts and raisins. Continue to simmer, covered for 15 minutes. Pour into canning jars and refrigerate. |
